After helping my mother breed and show her poodles and toydogs then briefly keeping and showing my own Standard Smooth Dachshunds in my teens, I started with Bullmastiffs in 1982 (achieving Top-Breeder twice and breeding the top winning bitch in the breed, top-winning brother and sister, along with numerous champions and CC winners over 20 years), until spinal surgery so I downsized back to Miniature Wirehaired Dachshunds in 2002.

HEALTH COMES FIRST
Our miniature wire haired dachshunds are bred with health as the priority.
I have been IVDD back scoring our breeding dogs since 2021, making us one of only a small number of UK breeders going beyond Kennel Club recommendations.
I was also among the first breeders in the UK to test for Lafora and PRA. Through careful, responsible breeding, these conditions have been bred out of our lines. Health, structure and longevity matter deeply to us.
TYPE, TEMPERAMENT AND FUNCTION
I breed for correct breed type, balanced temperament and dogs that are fit for function.
Whether as much loved companions, successful show dogs or capable working dachshunds, our aim is to produce miniature wire haired dachshunds that can confidently fulfil the role they were originally bred for.
RAISED IN OUR HOME
All Dajean puppies are born and raised in our home with 24 hour care.
They are carefully introduced to everyday sights, sounds and experiences to prepare them for family life.
This includes:
- Exposure to household noises.
- Regular interaction with adults and children.
- Gradually introduce outdoor environments, sounds, and smells in a calm, positive way to build confidence with toilet breaks.
- Gentle desensitisation to fireworks, traffic, sirens and other common sounds.
- Meeting larger dogs.
- Being around chickens.
I believe early socialisation is key to confident, well adjusted puppies.
ONGOING SUPPORT
When you welcome a Dajean puppy into your home, you become part of our extended family. I offer lifetime support and advice to all our puppy owners and are always here whenever guidance is needed.

I try to prepare our pups for all eventualities and expose them to as much as possible to give them confidence and the experiences that will help them become well-rounded family members. If you are looking for a friendly, happy, healthy family dog that still knows what it’s job is and looks beautiful too, this is what I’m striving to breed. Puppies are occasionally available to discerning people who appreciate the care and attention given to producing top-quality stock reared with no expense spared so that they make the best companions and life-long friends.
